During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools spare no effort in providing appropriate support for students with special educational needs (SEN). In this interview, the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and Special Educational Needs Support Teacher (SENST) from Sheung Shui Government Secondary School shared their experiences of how cross-border students with SEN were supported during the pandemic. In face of various challenges, the school actively promoted home-school cooperation in a practical manner and kept close communication and contact with parents to understand their needs.
In addition, the SENCO and SENST joined hands to handle the work underintegrated education (IE). They also passed on relevant expertise and practical skills to other colleagues so that the promotion and implementation of IE could be sustained in the school.
