School Introduction

Choi Jun School is a government-subsidized special education school established in 1977, dedicated to providing twelve years of free education for children with mild grade of intellectual developmental disorder. In late 1993, the school relocated to No. 2 Hin Tai Street, Sha Tin, where it continues to offer special education services.

Our mission is to nurture each student’s potential, promote healthy physical and mental development, and equip them with essential life and vocational skills. We aim to help students adapt to society, live independently, and become responsible and law-abiding citizens.

By catering to students’ diverse learning needs, we believe that every student possesses unique and immeasurable potential. By respecting each individual's right to equal learning opportunities, we continuously develop a diverse curriculum tailored to varied learning needs. Through comprehensive career planning, we empower students to embrace lifelong learning, face future changes with optimism, and rise to challenges with confidence. We actively encourage both staff and students to pursue excellence and holistic development, while fostering a campus culture of appreciation, inclusion, and care. Together, we build a harmonious and integrated community where everyone contributes, thrives, and lives with gratitude in the present moment.

"Integrating learning and daily life through digitalization, allowing students to engage with real-world experiences in a fun and meaningful way."

At Choi Jun School, we believe that learning should extend beyond the classroom into real-life experiences. To cultivate practical skills in a fun and engaging way, we proudly introduce the innovative CJ Coins Reward Program—a simulated community model that integrates learning, work, and leisure to create a dynamic and experiential campus environment.

“CJ Coins” is a form of ‘currency’ earned by students through their performance in class and around campus. These coins can be spent within our student-built micro-community to access various themed activity zones, such as arcade games, karaoke booths, and board game areas. Through this system, students learn real-world applications of money management and consumer decision-making.

What makes this program truly special is the transformation of classrooms into themed zones where students are not just participants but creators. They take on roles such as booth managers and shopkeepers, gaining hands-on experience in operations, customer service, problem-solving, and social interactions. This fosters teamwork, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility through simulated societal engagement.

To keep pace with technological advancement, we have introduced digital payment features—allowing senior students to make transactions via QR code scanning. This equips them with essential e-finance skills for the future in a fun and practical way.

We also offer a dedicated ‘Me Time Zone’, including a library, CJ Garden, and relaxation corners, providing personal space for students of different personalities and needs, to nurture their well-being—reinforcing our commitment to a healthy school environment.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand the CJ Coins program with new zones such as the ‘CJ Fun Shop’ and ‘Consignment Store’, where students can explore entrepreneurship, marketing, and even sell their handmade products. This full-cycle experience—from production to transaction—further enhances their creativity and economic awareness.

CJ Coins is more than a reward system—it’s our way of preparing students for the future. We hope every student can thrive in this supportive and imaginative campus, unlocking their potential, enjoying the journey of learning, and confidently stepping into a broader world.
