Background

Choi Jun School, which was founded by the TSZ WAN SHAN KAI FONG WELFARE ASSOCIATION in 1977 and moved to Shatin in 1993, provides special education services for children with mild grade intellectual disabilities. Our school emphasizes the development of personal potential and life skills, which lead our students to live independently and become good citizens in the future. 

Choi Jun School is located in a residential area surrounded by hills and green areas in Shatin. The pleasant learning environment provides fresh air, ample space and hi-tech facilities, creating the most suitable  environment for our students to learn.

Our school has excellent teachers with more than 80 staff in total.  All teachers are bachelors or masters degree holders. Over 80% of our teachers hold a certificate in special education. Our team is young and full of passion in teaching. In addition to teaching staff and teaching assistants, we also have teams of social workers, nurses, speech therapists, occupational therapists and an educational psychologist. They are specialists and take on the job full of love. They provide professional and high-quality services to our students.

Choi Jun School has increased the teacher-student ratio and the manpower of teaching assistants, so that our students can receive holistic care which helps them establish their ability to live independently. We hope that our students from Choi Jun School can become people who are able to serve others and live with gratitude when they grow up. 

“Work Execution”: Good tools are essential to the successful execution of a job -

A standardized and neat campus - To best fit our students’ needs, an impressive campus building, bright and stunning classrooms, spacious areas as well as modern and high-quality facilities are provided. To enhance the space and quality of the campus, we have made good use of the reconstruction and extension of school buildings. Facilities such as aquaponics have been constructed to promote a natural environment in school. With the birds twittering and the fragrances of plants, our students can find happiness in our school as well as in their home, and country.

Career and Life Planning - Academic pursuit and career planning are two major concerns for our students. Starting from P.1, class teachers have personal counselling with each student to support their learning difficulties and help them go through the transition from school life to career life. Needless to say, physical strength is also an important element in the workplace. Therefore, our school has increased the lesson time allocated to Physical Education. We hope that our students can be good citizens after graduation with ‘heart’ and ‘strength’.
