Adventure to Wordland
Adventure to Wordland is an engaging online learning game tailored for students with reading and writing difficulties . Building on the success of《中文字詞認讀訓練（第二版）- 字得其樂》 (a project developed with partial involvement from the Education Bureau), the game aims to help junior primary students with reading and writing difficulties strengthen their understanding of Chinese character structures, enhance their phonological awareness, and improve their reading fluency through gameplay.
Teachers can integrate the Adventure to Wordland and instructional videos into regular lessons, small-group support sessions, or individual training, depending on students’ learning needs and progress, to help them gain the greatest benefit. Parents can also make good use of this online learning game to enhance their children’s motivation and interest in learning Chinese.
Introduction of the game
Students must first log in to the Hong Kong Education City website before accessing the game. The Adventure to Wordland features three islands and twelve levels. Each level has three difficulty modes — Beginner, Intermediate, and Challenge. The content is designed to enhance students’ abilities in character structure, phonetic recognition, and reading fluency, aiming to strengthen their skills across these three key areas.
