Issue no.13 - Involvement of Parents in the Prevention of Speech and Language Impairments (SLI) of Children

The theme of the 13th issue of the SE Newsletter “Involvement of Parents in the Prevention of Speech and Language Impairments (SLI) of Children”. It introduces in detail the four types of SLI including language problems, articulation problems, voice problems and fluency problems through a dialogue between two parents, and the explanation by a school-based speech therapist (SBST). To address the above four types of problems, the SBST explains in detail how parents can support children effectively to enhance their language abilities. If parents could maintain close communication with schools, teachers will be able to learn about the problems and the performance of students in classes timely, and make appropriate referrals, with a view to support students with SLI more effectively.
