Primary to secondary schooling
Transfer of information after the release of the results for Secondary School Places Allocation
Before Primary Six (P.6) students with SEN proceed to Secondary One, primary schools should use an appropriate form to seek parents’ consent for transferring the SEN information of the students concerned to their recipient secondary schools, so that the secondary schools can understand their learning needs and arrange appropriate support. According to the options of parents recorded in SEMIS by primary schools, the EDB will transfer the basic SEN information (e.g. SEN type and tier of support required) of P.6 students whose registrations have been confirmed by secondary schools participating in SSPA to the recipient secondary schools via SEMIS within seven working days after the release of the results for Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA). Secondary schools have to plan and provide support for these students as early as possible with reference to the information available in SEMIS and that passed by the primary schools. For details, please refer to the respective circular.
Special arrangements for Pre-Secondary One Hong Kong Attainment Test
Upon or before the release of the results for SSPA, primary schools have to use the proforma provided by the EDB to give parents the recommendations for special arrangements for students with SEN sitting for the Pre-Secondary One Hong Kong Attainment Test. Parents may present the proforma to the secondary schools at the time of their children’s registration, so that the schools can make reference to the respective information and make appropriate special arrangements for the students accordingly. For details, please refer to the respective circular.
