Highlights

Diverse Learning

The school has always been emphasising on diverse learning and aiming to provide a variety of development and learning opportunities for the students.

The school has committed to develop e-learning. Teachers do not rely solely on textbooks and whiteboards to deliver knowledge in classes, instead, they also apply information technology in teaching, such as e-books, tablets, and electronic whiteboards. Teachers browse various websites with students to read different materials, videos and animations. Interactive exercises and educational games are also added in lessons. Students are more willing to learn and participate in learning with these diverse elements.

Moreover, the school has long been introducing intelligent robots in teaching. The robots can patiently practise with students repeatedly, give feedback, provide multiple sensory stimulation, vivid pictures, actions and sound effects, etc.. These will enhance students' learning efficiency and social communication skills.

In recent years, the school has continued to optimise campus facilities and added in contextual rooms to meet the students’ special educational needs. Students can learn shopping in the simulated "Pui Chi convenience store", learn placing orders and table manners in the "Hong Kong-style cafe", learn work skills and attitudes in "workshop", and do exercises in the "fitness center". The school will also set up a "road safety town" in the future to enhance students' awareness of traffic safety.

Life-wide learning is also an extremely important part of the school. The school arranges a large number of life-wide learning activities that allow students to leave the classrooms and learn in real settings, such as overseas exchange activities, visits to places in Hong Kong to conduct inquiry-based learning on different local topics. The school also trains students to participate in various types of competitions, such as bowling competition, music competitions, etc., to realise their potential.

In addition, the school also provides students with diversified professional support services like: life planning, speech therapy, resource teaching for children with autism spectrum disorders, occupational therapy, music therapy, educational psychologist support, nursing services and social work services, etc.. These services are provided to ensure students receiving a full range of support and comprehensive care for better physical and mental development.
