Tuen Mun Government Secondary School - Experience Sharing of Facilitating Cross-departmental Collaboration to Support Students with SEN and Home School Cooperation

With the development of integrated education (IE), the Government has been providing additional resources to support schools to implement IE through the Whole School Approach (WSA), so as to cater for students with special educational needs (SEN).  The WSA is an indispensable key element for the successful implementation of IE.  In this interview, the team of Tuen Mun Government Secondary School shared with us the in-depth analysis of  different strategies adopted  to implement IE through WSA from multiple perspectives so that all students with SEN can receive prompt support.

The school highly values cross-sector collaboration and home-school cooperation.  In the interview, the school-based educational psychologist, alumni, students with SEN and their parents were invited to share their views and feelings on the support services rendered for the students with SEN by the school.  This helps us better understand how the school has been working hand in hand with parents, through diversified strategies for supporting students with SEN, to build a harmonious and inclusive campus for students to grow.
