Caritas Mother Teresa School
School for
Social Development
(The following information is provided by the school.)
Background
The school is dedicated to achieve the core values of the Caritas Hong Kong and actualise the Catholic educational mission with a specific focus on those who are "the Last, the Least and the Lost". The school motto is "Be faithful, conscientious and modest, Love God and one another", the school’s teaching staff commit themselves to foster students to be good citizens who are always grateful, joyful, loving and reverent to God. The campus was built upon the Chinese philosophy of “Square” and “Circle” which symbolise “discipline for virtues” and “harmony with one another” respectively. The aesthetic and orderly school environment as well as the warm residence are intended to inspire students to actively participate in all learning activities and gradually transform themselves emotionally and spiritually.
The school is a school for Social Development for S1 – S6 girls aged between 12 and 18. It serves students with moderate to severe emotional and behavioural difficulties at ordinary schools. Residential placement in Caritas Mother Teresa Hall for some students is recommended and sponsored by the Social Welfare Department, aiming at providing a holistic and transformative education for the special educational needs of the students.
