Highlights

The Inception of Student Union: Self- Affirmation

Since its establishment in 2016, the Student Union of Caritas Lok Yi School has become an icon of the school’s student community.  The election of the student union has become a unique tradition of the school.  The union members, under teachers’ guidance, have become models of learning and service.  They preside over important school ceremonies, take care on the well-being of the student groups and share their opinions to the school regularly.  The union does not only strengthen the teachers’ expectations for children's learning and recognition of the infinite potential of children, it also allows students to develop a solid sense of personal identity and creates a bright image of "Lok Yi’s Boys and Girls".

Life-wide Education: Enriching Student Life

Life-wide learning allows students to walk out of the classroom and learn in real situations and environments. The school organises a variety of parent-child overseas study tours and lead students out of Hong Kong, such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Macau, Taiwan and Japan, etc.. The tours help foster their cultural awareness of different regions and countries.  Students do not only have fun experiences of traveling aboard, but also learn to adapt to different scenario and difficulties such as transportation, accommodation, and medical care. Thus, the tours improve their self-care, self-discipline, social skills, and enrich their lives.

Invitational Education: Talent Cultivation and Development

Apart from catering for the diversity of students’ learning, the school also aims at maximising their talent and potential by providing more learning opportunities and platforms, such as a variety of drama exercises (Cantonese Opera), physical fitness (International Dinghy Regatta) and art performance (Joint School Art Exhibition). Through repeated practices and rehearsals, students learn to use their imagination and creativity to explore personal interests in learning, which promote balanced development of the whole person.
