Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School - Relationship between Big Data and Implementation of Whole School Approach to Integrated Education

Technologies have advanced by leaps and bounds.  How can a school apply technologies to provide students with person-centered support in light of their individual needs?  In this interview, Principal Poon Kai Cheung Franky of Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School shared with us his practical experiences and valuable insights.

When drawing up individual education plans for students with special educational needs, teachers usually need to process a large amount of data from different stakeholders and allocate appropriate support measures to students according to their individual needs, which is a highly challenging task.  An effective student data management platform can facilitate cross-sector exchange and collaboration that enables different professionals to provide students with more focused support services through different strategies.  In parallel, teachers may share relevant information with parents so that they can have a better understanding of the services provided by the school and the progress of their children at different stages, which facilitates home-school cooperation.
