Lung Cheung Government Secondary School - Experience Sharing: Whole School Approach in Supporting Students with Mental Illness

Students’ mental health has been of prime concern to all sectors of the community.  Starting from the 2017/18 school year, the Learning Support Grant has covered students with mental illness, so as to provide schools with additional resources to enhance the support for the needs of those students.  In this interview, Principal WONG Kit-hing, Becky and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) from Lung Cheung Government Secondary School shared with us specific measures for the implementation of integrated education through the Whole School Approach and the promotion of mental health of students.

In addition to making effective use of the additional resources allocated by the Education Bureau, the school liaised with the alumni in a proactive manner and set up “Scholarship for Positive Energy and Virtue” with a view to cultivating an inclusive and vibrant learning environment with positivity, and in line with the school’s motto of “Everyone has potential, Everyone can succeed”.
