Introduction
In order to demonstrate how students in special schools develop diverse talents and to celebrate 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Education Bureau (EDB), together with the Hong Kong Special Schools Council and the Education University of Hong Kong, organised “SHINE 2022” and launched the dedicated website to disseminate newest information of the event and share the achievements of special school students. The EDB hopes that through the website, the public will have a better understanding of special education in Hong Kong and actively support students in special schools.
The finale of “SHINE 2022” is the “Special School Students Variety Show on Aug 11”. The show was held on the morning of August 11 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai. In this show, there were musical instrument performance, dragon dance, martial arts performance and wheelchair dance. In order to allow the public, including the hearing impaired and visually impaired, to enjoy the wonderful performances of special school students, the show was broadcasted live (with sign language interpretation and audio description) on this dedicated website.
